Transit Visa
1.Purpose of visit
This type of visa will be issued to applicants who wish to enter the Kingdom for the following purposes:
- To travel in transit through the Kingdom or at the airport exceeding 12 hours in order to proceed to the country of destination or to re-enter his/her own country (category "TS") (requiring proof of confirmed onward ticket to a Third country)
- To participate in sports activities (sportsmen, sportswomen, etc.) (category "S") (requiring letter from organization concerned and invitation letter from Thailand)
- The person in charge or crew of a conveyance coming to a port, station or area in the Kingdom (category "C") (requiring letter from organization concerned and invitation letter from Thailand)
2.Documents Require
Passport holders of the following countries listed below who hold either permanent or temporary Australian resident visas are required to comply with the visa process as follows: (processing time is up to days)
To apply for a visa, a passport with validity not less than 6 months is required;

1. Applicant must prepare 3 sets of documents to submit as following (in order):
1.1 A completed and signed visa application form (along with 1.2)
1.2 A passport-sized photograph (3 photos)
1.3 A photocopy of itinerary (Flight detail: Arriving & Departing from Thailand)
1.4 A photocopy of a passport with validity not less than 6 months
1.5 A photocopy of valid permanent or temporary Australian resident visa
1.6 A photocopy of full pre-paid accommodation in Thailand
Or invitation letter from a reference person in Thailand with photocopies of his/her ID card and proof of resident in Thailand.
1.7 A The verification letter (1 Original plus 2 copies) from workplace, school or university (for Business visa applicants must provide a sponsorship letter from your organization)
Or the verification letter (1 original plus 2 copies) of an Australian citizen with 3 photocopies of his/her passport (only for those who cannot provide a documents from workplace, school or university)
1.8 A photocopy of ID card or other acceptable ID card (student card, company ID card, driver license) issued by Australian government/organization
2. The Royal Thai Consulate-General reserves its rights not to inform the reason to those whose application is rejected.
3. The Royal Thai Consulate-General reserves the rights for not considering or processing visa application of those persons claiming to receive information from other agency or sources other than the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Sydney.
4. These procedure and information is valid until further notices.
Special Notes:
1. As for the holder of other Australian visa (i.e. visitor) the visa processing time is up to 5 working days.
2. The visa processing time and required documents are not negotiable.
3. The issuance of visa is at discretion of the consular officer.
4. Visa processing fee is non-refundable.

3.Visa Fee
AUD$ 35 per entry (as of 26 August 2003)
4.Validity of a Visa
The validity of a visa is three months.
5.Validity of a Stay
Travelers coming to Thailand with this type of visa will be permitted to stay in the Kingdom for a period not exceeding 7 days.
6.Extension of Stay
Those who wish to stay longer can submit the application form at the Office of Immigration Bureau located on Soi Suan Plu, off South Sathorn Road, Bangkok 10120 , Tel (662) 287-3101-10 (or at http://www.police.go.th ). The extension of stay as well as the change of certain types of visa is at the discretion of the Immigration officer.
